What is #GivingTuesday?

Last Friday the streets of the UK were eerily and unexpectedly tranquil. Shop doors stayed intact, mad hordes were nowhere to be seen and the only trampling in ASDA was over discounted rotisserie chickens. It was Black Friday – the biggest day of consumer spending this year (shortly followed by Cyber Monday). However 2014 saw another, more welcome, US trend cross the atlantic – #GivingTuesday.

Tuesday 1st December is a global day of giving, labelled #GivingTuesday. It’s a chance to come together to show the world why it’s good to give, and it’s the perfect remedy after a weekend of fevered spending.

It’s an opportunity for charities to reach out, as well as for you to consider supporting worthwhile causes. And this year, Bramber Bakehouse is taking part. We’ve had a busy few months, resulting in some exciting developments (more news on that soon) which means 2016 promises to be a HUGE year for us. We need your support more than ever and in the lead up to #GivingTuesday we’ll be sharing more about our progress and how you can practically support us and the women we’ll be working with.

Will you consider supporting Bramber Bakehouse financially? We’d love for you to join us on the journey and support us regularly by giving £10, £20 or £30 a month.

Get Involved with #GivingTuesday

You can make a difference by offering your support. A small amount can make a significant impact on the vulnerable women we’ll work alongside.

Donate Today

Here are 4 great reasons to get involved with #GivingTuesday:

1. You can make a difference
Your donations make a huge difference to the lives of people in need. Vulnerable women will get fresh starts and new opportunities through the work of Bramber Bakehouse, and you can make a significant contribution to their lives.

2. Leave a lasting impact
This weekend we’ll see record-high spending online and on the high street. In 2014 one third of people admitted to wasting money on Black Friday. Donations have a lasting impact long after this goliath weekend of spending is over.

3. Use your skills and talents
You can give more than just money! We’d love to hear from you if you have business, charity or baking experience. Giving Tuesday is also an opportunity to consider volunteering and giving your time, skills and experience.

4. 2016 is a big year
2016 is the year of Bramber. We have a big vision and we can only achieve it with your help and support. Come with us on the journey next year and together we can make freedom and second chances a reality.
