Bramber Workshops, Coming This Autumn
It is all go here at Bramber Bakehouse! After our exciting news last week we wanted to share more about our upcoming plans.
This autumn we’re launching a series of workshops that will work with women who have been rescued from exploitation, teaching them baking and employability skills. The workshops will run once a month for six months, and each session will focus on a new baking technique and different areas of independent living.
Martha and Lucy will be leading the baking and all the baked produce will be sold at the Sunday services at Kings Church the next day.
Whilst the oven is in action, there’ll be time spent looking at interview skills, self-esteem, positive relationships and more. We’ll be working alongside a charity that specialise in creating and delivering training programmes for women who have suffered exploitation. The sessions will be run by members of the BB team and people we know who have particular expertise in different areas.
The workshops will enable us to work alongside women and develop an effective programme, whilst also working towards the goal of opening a bakery offering longer-term internships.
We’re really excited and we can’t wait to get started! We hope you continue to follow along via social media – we’d love to hear from you. Keep an eye out for more information on the workshops, and other progress.
